Mitac P350 & Mapopolis Navigator

I've got a P350 and have purchased a Mapopolis Navigation map pack for western europe.

i didn't test using the free download - the sample maps were of London, 200+ miles away, and perhaps I should have at least tried to run the software, but then as the accesory link for the P350 led to a page including Mapopolis among TT etc, then I assumed it must be compatable?

I can't get the software to obtain a GPS signal, even though it works fine on Memory Map V5. The programme runs, the maps open, all featrues seem to be present & correct, except the ability of the software to access a suitable com port to allow it to obtain a GPS signal.

So have I dropped a bolack here by buying Mapopolis, or am I missing something obvious? I have e-mailed support @ mapopolis as their website does make mention of some devices needing a software pacth, but other than that is there anything else to try?
