Hi

I am trying to use my new 6031-X7 on an HP 5450 running PPC2002. It works sometimes but the Bluetooth connection seems unreliable in that most of the time when it connects (say on opening TT) some data starts to flow but then stops as shown by the lack of "dots" in the GPS screen. The connection remains open but no NMEA data passes.

This seems to be so irrespective of the PPC Application (TT with GPS2.07, Fugawi, SP GPS View). The 6031-X7 also seems to work fine with Fugawi on my laptop.

So my conclusion is that it is something to do with the BT software on the PPC not liking the Rikaline. I am running the HP ROM version 1.11.19. I have added the BTBrowserEnabled registry setting which helped (it didn't work at all before that). Otherwise it is "virgin".

So... anyone care to advise in detail a configuration that they know works reliably? Or is this a real problem with the 6031-X7?

Thanks

Andy

make sure you set it to NMEA 4800 or 38400 . Those BT receivers claim to be auto sensing but sometimes have a hard time at different speeds.

From later posts this problem seems to be being experienced by others and Rikaline have admitted the problem.

How can people ship stuff that just doesn't work? Amazing!
