I have just downloaded the new OS for TT700 (Version 6.520) after I had done this all of my pocketgps POI for cameras disappeared from the POI listings. I then installed the new maps, still the same. I then downloaded the POI files from pocketGPS and re-installed, still not appearing on TT700.

Has anyone any idea why please?

The POI files have to be located in the correct map folder, as you have downloaded new maps and installed them have you put the POI files into the correct new map folder?
If so having changed the version and map you will need to go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and set-up each POI warning for them to be effective - Mike

THanks mike for the help. The poi files (ov2 and bmp) are in the folder Western_Europe-map.

When I go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI the pocketGPS poi are not listed there either.

This change happened after I upgraded to OS 6.520 and before I changed the map.

I am still at a loss about this. Any more ideas would be appreciated.

Another piece of info.: In TomTom Home with the explore option, all of the pocketGPS POI camera files are lised in the rh column under My GO 700. I presume that this is as it should be.

Which map have you actually got selected as the active one within the software? being a 700 you could have more than a single map installed to the device, if the POI files are in the correct place go to Change Preferences/ Manage Maps/ Switch Map and select the correct one listed, then try to configure the POI files for warnings - Mike

Thanks again mike.

This problem arose after the software upgrade and before I installed the new map.

I deleted the old map immediately after I installed the new one.

I have followed your advice as above and selected the WE map again although the route finding was already working OK. The only maps now are WE and Canary Islands and the WE map is selected and displaying.

Thanks for any more help.

The POI files should be listed something like when viewed in the right hand side of the TomTom home window:

Western And Central Europe\Pocketgps Uk Gatso30

If the POI files are listed this way then I cannot see a reason why the device isn't allowing you to configure the warnings to be honest - Mike

Thanks again mike.

The format of the listing in TT Home is as you describe. THe PocketGPS POI are definitely not visible on the TT700. Is this something to do with the new software v 6.520 blocking the pocketgps poi? Is this a possible explanation?

Cracked it.

I created a new POI from scratch and noticed that the TT700 stored this in the folder Western Europe and not Western Europe-map.

I then moved all of the pocket gps files (ov2 and bmp) into the folder Western Europe and it all worked OK.

I can only conclude that the new v6.520 requires the files in this folder and not the ...map folder.

Does this make sense?

This sounds quite correct, my first post mentioned making sure the POI were in the correct map folder, it would appear you have two different folders that contain maps?
Still if you have it all working I would do a back-up to the PC and use the device - Mike

Thanks Mike.

It seems that the downloaded maps are in the folder Western Europe whereas I gather it is normal for them to be in Western Europe-Maps.

I just used the TT download feature and it did its own thing, Quite why it has changed this configuration I have no idea, but it seems to be working OK now and I will road test it later.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions and help.

The change in Name came about with the change from V5 to V6 Maps.

I think this means that the pocketgps instructions for installing the camera etc POIs needs updating as they currently instruct to place them in the 'Western Europe -Maps' and not 'Western Europe'

Thanks for all the help received.
