looks like theres a decent alternative to tomtom atlast and gives me a good excuse to buy a nokia 770 internet tablet:

I've just bought this kit (£135) as I already have a Nokia 770 (£245)- with the 770's 800x480 screen it is a great for navigation, but if you are only going to use the 770 for navigation it is a pricey combination.
