Just to let anyone know, if you want to use an external Bluetooth receiver instead of the inbuilt receiver, you have to do a registry fix in the TomTom part of the the registry. Change the COM port from 7 (inbuilt) to the CM port of your receiver (6 in my case). Save the registry (no need for a reset). Thren, in the control panael (settings) uncheck the box which says "manage GPS software ....". When you start TomTom, it will ask you for a GPP device and the internal GPS receiver will be disabled......

A bit of a pain to do, but it works.....

Bond007 - sounds good, thanks! Between us all, we'll get the whole TomTom thing sorted... just in time for the release of TT7!

Here's something that might also be of interest. I've been getting low on memory, and after streamlining all my programs down, and loading as much as possible on the storage card, TT6 was still the largest memory hog on the device. For fun, I moved the entire folder NAVIGATOR from 'Device\Program Files' to 'Storage card\Program Files', created a new shortcut (obviously!) to TomTom Navigator.exe and hey! it all works! For some reason, the GPS registry key reset itself, so I had to modify it again (as described in earlier posts) - but apart from that it's perfect. So, I now have an extra 4.88mb free on the device and I'm very happy! Only time will tell as to whether it's totally stable, but it's an easy one to put back as it was.

I have a hw6945 and it appears thet TT6 does not connect to the GPS receiver (although the status icon changes color from gray to orange).
Also I have the following settings for tt6:
GPS receiver = Other NMEA GPS receiver
GPS baud rate = 57600
GPS is connected to = Internal AGPS NMEA

also in the registry of my ppc I have enabled the controlpanel to show the GPS settings and I have the following settings:
GPS program port = GPD1
GPS hardware port = COM7 (can I really change this?)
Baud rate = 57600
Manage GPS access automatically = checkbox unchecked
and I have also verified that the IsEnabled registry is set to 0.

Do you know proper settings in order to let the tt6 connect to the built-in gps receiver?
please, help me!
