TomTom 6; Compatible with HP iPaq h5550 ?

Anybody know if TomTom 6 is compatible with the HP iPaq h5550 running WM2003 ?

I've had a look at the compatibility list on the TomTom web site and the only HP devices they list as compatible are;

HP
HW6510, HW6515, iPAQ H4150, iPAQ H4350, iPAQ hw6910, iPAQ hw6915, iPAQ HX2190, iPAQ HX2490, iPAQ RX1950, iPAQ RZ1710

but I've seen threads discussing it running okay on hx4700 for example.

Is there a more complete compatibility list anywhere ? and whats the score about not being able to activate the S/W on unsupported devices ?

Any information appreciated, especially before spending my hard earned cash on an "New" version which I migt not be able to use.

TomTom 6 will work on all WM 2003 devices. It will not work on PPC2002.

So you're safe. But don't expect it to run faster than TTN5. Unless you really need the new features in TTN6 and/or the newer maps you should stay with what you have.

I can't answer the Support part of your post but can confirm that TTN6 works just fine on my iPAQ 5555, running the same ROM version (actually, I have 1.10.18 but it shows as 1.10.10) as your 5550.

Answer
TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 includes a number of new features that greatly improve the product.
Unfortunately, these features require more memory and processing power when compared to NAVIGATOR 5 and MOBILE 5.

In addition, TomTom now offers many new maps, which are bigger and more detailed than the old maps. These maps also require more memory and processing power in the device.

I have tried TT6 on a 5550 and it ran well with smaller maps but it struggled with the single map of all of western Europe.

http://www.ipaqchoice.com so guess it must be. But on my HP 6915 TomTom 5 is on the ROM so seems a bit of a waste unless TomTom 6 knows to update that ROM version (I doubt it).
