I intentionally kept my drive C:\ small. When I try to transfer maps from MapSource to my iQue 3600 I run into the problem that there is not enough space on C: to store the files. Try as I may, I can't make enough space. Is there any way to make MapSource store the files on another drive?
Thanks.

If you were using Que software on a PocketPC PDA then you could use Mapsource to write the file of maps to an SD card using a card reader - it would be placed in the directory Garmin below the root of the filesystem on the card - and then just put the card into the SD slot on the PDA. Won't this work with Palm? You can get a lot of mapping on a big SD card. |

The menu does not offer that possibility. MapSource looks for a Garmin device and after it finds the iQue I have the choice of transferring the maps either to the internal memory or an SD card. I choose the SD card but then the error message comes up. |

I can't remember if Mapsource has a drop-down menu of all the devices it can write to, or just picks what it regards as the highest-priority one, but in any event if you don't connect your iQue and do connect a card reader, it will allow you to send the map file to it. Works for me. |

Whether the unit is connected or not, the SD card in a Card reader is still available within the drop down box as one of the options!
How big a file are you transferring, and into what size SD card?
Where is your C drive? [on PC or unit] |

Solved the problem. I used a different drive with more space for the temporary files. |
