|
|
Hey,
I've got Tomtom 5 and a Globalsat BT 308 receiver (under the Kirrio brand? It looks EXACTLY like the globalsat one) and an XDA2i.
I have managed to pair the GPS unit up fine, but it seems that I can't activate it in tomtom. I go to the screen to select a GPS receiver, I select 'other bluetooth receiver' and then it asks me to make sure it's paired up, then to select a COM port.
The options are COM4, COM2 and COM9. The COM port used for the GPS is COM6 as far as I'm aware, and it isn't an option in tomtom. How am I meant to connect the device? Does anyone know? |

Hi anjow1,
to the forum!
Here’s how I have my TomTom Navigator 5 set up on an iPAQ 2210, using a GlobalSat BT-338:
Other Cable NMEA GPS
GPS baud rate 38400
GPS connected to Bluetooth Serial Port COM8:
Plea try the above settings, although you may need to experiment with the COM one.

Hi anjow1,
Glad to hear that my advice worked. Which COM Port did you use in the end?
Now you’ve got your SatNav working, have you considered using the PocketGPSWorld camera database?

I think I used port 6.
As for the camera database - I still have a few kinks to iron out with my setup and then it's next on my list! |
