I have just bought a Quest with CS6 specifically to obtain the additional unlock for my GpsMap 60c and have made a BIG mistake Crying or Very sad .The 60c had been in storage for some time so I so when the upgrade to CN8 came I unlocked that to the Quest .I then got the 60c out of storage and went to the Garmin site to get CS6 unlocked to the 60c but when I tried I could not ,it would only unlock it to CN8 8O .I contacted Garmin support and they said I should have unlocked CS6 to both units ..then upgraded to CN8 on the Quest and there was nothing they could do about it. This is totaly useless to me because the map segments are way to big for a route through Europe which is why I wanted CS6 in the first place Evil or Very Mad I know garmin have provided a free upgrade to CN8 but I think this is very unfair that they do not give clear instructions on the proceedure And the unknowing customer is left with a less than satisfied attitude towards Garmin..

I had the same problem.
In February I updated to CityNavigator v8 for my main GPS unit - Garmin iQue 3600. It works fine on the iQue, it was one of the first in UK - Sept 2003.

However, on buying a Garmin GPSMAP 60CS in March I ended up unable to use the smaller 'MapTiles' of CitySelect v6 for the same reasons as you.

The GPS 60CS has only 56MB of memory [not enough space for the maptiles for a trip Pembrokeshire to Dover with CN v8].

As the GPS 60cs is only my secondary unit, it is not too much of a problem, BUT I was a little bit 'peeved'!

Result, Garmin MetroGuide Europe works with the GPS 60CS and they are reasonable second hand - with no need for 'unlock codes'.
Because the MapTiles are smaller than CS v6 I have loaded all of Wales and the South of England including London into the 56MB memory.

I was again 'peeved' to find that although I now had a reasonable spread of maptiles, I could not AutoRoute/Navigate with MetroGuide and the 60CS!!

However, I have now found a way [that's another story] and I am routing with Metroguide Europe v7 with the GPS 60CS :D :D

I am still seething from my dabble into Garmin software and now wonder if this is not a delberate ploy by them to get people to purchase their newer Cx models and even then they would need to buy a larger storage card as the one supplied is pityfully small. Perhaps one of the PGPSW team could put this to Garmin at the next meet.
