garmin i3 v8 maps

I know there are a couple of posts regarding sending off your card to have it updated but i need to use my i3 most weeks at the mo for work and dont want to run the risk of sending it off and not having it back sharpish. I know they say 5 day turnaround but im guessing with the amount of people (like me) who have just got one cheap they may get a bit delayed

Does anyone know if there is another way to update from v7 to v8 maps. If not will Garmin still be offering this free update in a month or two once i may not have as much use (or if go on holiday fro 2 weeks)

Would be prepared to pay for a dvd (but not to much) because since using the little guy dont think i can navigate without it

Used for a journey for the first time today (got yesterday) and cant believe how much easier and stress free my journey was. Had to go somewhere i sort of knew but not that well and as there were road works had to take a different route and my i3 worked wonders

Seeing that you are deeply in love already, I would really get the updated map (I know you'll suffer for few days with i3 withdrawal) to complete your happiness with the knowledge that your new found love is now perfect. I would do as other suggested and send the card via special (or at least recorderd) delivery for peace of mind.
