StreetPilot i3 - New POI Loader, CSVs & 'Maplin' Package

Having ordered my Garmin StreetPilot i3 yesterday from Maplin, it turned up this morning complete with a CD containing the December '05 Safety Camera Database.

The unit came with Version 2.6 software loaded, but the new Version 8 maps! :D

Being a typical bloke and wanting the best, I immediately went to the Garmin website and downloded the new Version 2.7 software, USB drivers and POI loader.

Having installed the USB drivers, I easily and successfully updated the unit to Version 2.7.

I then attempted to upload the Camera Database which came bundled with the unit using the new POI loader, but got an error message that basically said "pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.csv contains no valid information" with the option to continue "Yes" or "No". I selected NO and then came to this forum to find out what I was doing wrong!!

I found this forum and used the add the ";" (semi-colon) fix to each of the CSV files and Bingo the upload worked straight away.

Just thought I would impart this information, just in case other people who have bought their unit from Maplin are having the same problem.

I've now got a Garmin StreetPilot i3 with Version 2.7 software, Version 8 maps and the Dec '05 Camera Database. :D

I'll test the camera database on the way to work tomorrow

garmin changed their software in january creating the need to edit ALL our poi files... still, glad you sorted it out!
