Backing up I3 Maps??

Hi All,
I have just purchased an I3 and am concerned that if the Flashcard, which contains all the map data, should become corrupt or damaged all my maps will be lost. Is there any way of backing up this data. Also if I download speed camera data to the I3 can I later take it off, if I so wish.

If you want to backup the contents of the TransFlash onto your PC, then you'll need a suitable card reader/adaptor.

The contents of the TransFlash are tied to that individual card - you'll only be able to usefully copy them back onto that card. If you copy them onto another (blank) card, it won't work.

I would say that it's only really worthwhile backing-up the TransFlash if you're poking around the Garmin at a programming level - for general users, it's probably not really worthwhile.

As for removing POIs - whenever new POIs are loaded (using POI_Loader), the old ones are automatically removed. This means that whenever you load new POIs, you need to load all your wanted POI at the same time.
