Upgrading to version 5.420

I have recently purchased a TTG 300 with version 5.210 with GB map provided only on a 128mb card. Can anyone tell me how to upgrade to the latest version as I want to put safety camera updates onto it. I am willing to buy a larger SD card (maybe 256 or 512mb) to put it on, and I have backed up files onto my PC using CD provided.
Would I be able to still use original 128mb SD card incase copying files to new SD card does not work? I have got product code, device code and I think activation code from www.ttcode.com.

The SD you get from TomTom is pretty full, you can hardly add anything extra.

Better get a bigger SD card
First make a full backup of your original card.
Then copy all content to the new SD card, and then update the new SD to v5.42.

The old one is then still original and usable.
