I know this is totally irrelevant seeing as this is a forum mainly to solve problems, but I felt compelled to add this to thank all for info given to me plus what ive read over the past week or so.
Finally I have got satnav on my smartphone, and its working great at the minute no glitches or crashes as yet to report,

I struck lucky and bought mine on e-bay, as the seller had bought the wrong version, as he should of purchased pocket pc version so I got it at a buy now price delivered for £110 the full kit software and gps... Support at ALK was fine too with the de-reg of software, all in all I cant complain although I really did want tom tom, but had gps problems.

And best of all it works great with my other gps unit so now I have a spare if anything goes wrong the co pilot gps box. Although one thing about co pilot is " where is the volume control " is there 1 ???
