voice problems and advice please.

I'm a newbie and am experiencing voice problems. Unit does not say right and sometimes says left when display reads right. Another word is missing possibly 'forward or straight on'. I've downloaded v2.70 software. Any suggestions?
Great little unit though.
Does anyone know a quick way to access a street name in your area without having to go through-country-city--house number-street.? Grateful for any response.

Most of the voice problems seem to sort themselves out if you change it from British English to American English and then back again.

It takes it quite a while to do the changes so be patient with it.
