garmin i3

hi all newbie here, bought my i3 today after reading 39 pages of posts yesterday,first impresions wow.
now can any one give me an update on some issues i read about.thanks
should I get the update ? mines 2.4.
how do I down load the speed cameras?
can you buy data cards with europe on pre loaded?
if not do you have to buy a blank card and a cd rom Crying or Very sad

?
when I take the card out of mine there is nothing in the i3 unit, that is it justs asks me to put the card in,is this normal ?
should I dowload the cd rom that comes with the i3 or will that stop me getting the free updates?
sorry, I know theres alot to be going on with here but I am ruuubish at this sort of thing and maybe there are others out there who are to scared to look like fools. I on the other hand dont mind. thanks all
