tt5 medion pda no sat signal displayed but navigates ok?

I have a Medion PDA with Tomtom v5.0 installed with uk and major roads of europe maps. I have set the pda to comunicate with "other cable NMEA GPS" baud rate 4800 / com 1.
The navigation software works a treat and the GPS black and yellow circle is turning but it does not display how many GPS are used / locked. Any ideas?

I had that problum as well when i used the Gps that came with the Medion it broke and I bought a new one of Ebay and it works perfect with how many GPS are used and locked
