Garmin I5 Maps

Just an FYI--

I have been searching the net trying to find out how the maps are stored on the I5. It was split with sites saying memory or harddrive.

I just got the answer back from Garmin and they said it is all stored on internal memory no harddrive is installed. Good news, now I will use it on my bike without worrying about hardrive heads bouncing.

I think the 2720 and most of the newer units are solid state memory too.

The one to watch out for was the Street Pilot 2620 which has a microdrive in it and isn't recommended for bike use.
