Hi there
I've recently bought an i3 and discovered this wonderful site.
Was wondering whether any of you POI connoiseurs had come up with a way to download traffic information from the AA or RAC website and upload it to your i3?
This would be particularly useful where there are published roadworks and road closures etc that are ongoing for a specified published period of time.
Has anyone come across this as yet, or have any designs on making one?
Thanks for your help.

PS - Apologies if this question has been asked before - I did a quick search of the forum before posting and couldn't see anything of this nature.

Firstly - Welcome

This is not a subject that has been aired before and is an interesting thought.

You would need to be able to get the latitude and longitude of the roadworks (or a post code that you could convert) in order to enter it into the i3 as a POI.

I don't know how you could do that but if anyone does - good idea Idea

I've done a bit of browsing on this and the Highways Agency (them that digs up the roads Evil or Very Mad ) have an interesting website at http://www.highways.gov.uk/trafficinfo/ which (when you drill down a bit) lists a number of roadworks and their likely severity. Trouble is that they give the location as a grid reference although, using www.streetmap.co.uk it would be possible to convert these to lat/long.

Better would be to email the agency and ask them to provide lat/long in the listing.

Best would be to have no roadworks Wink
