Anyone knows of any database on the location of public toilets in the UK. Garmin would help you reduce your level of stress during driving as well as relieve your distress when nature calls. What a relief........... 8O

No I am dead serious. I think this is as important as being able to find a car park. I travel by car quite a lot and knowing where to go on need I feel is quite useful.

We already have a lot POI'S that have toilets, such as pubs, ikea, kfc, mcdonalds, little chef, garages, motorway services etc etc.

Laughing Out Loud. I'll keep this in mind MaFt. Don't forget however to lock your car as someone might snatch your dear Garmin (or indeed you car) while you are are "contemplating" the world.

Yes very.

Like George Michael kind of iffy. There are probably sites where you can obtain this kind of information, your on the wrong forum.

Don't even go there!

You can get McDonnalds, KFC, Little Chef, Tescos, Asda etc POIs, then theres the motorway services. These all have toilets, usually clean. Even if you found a public convenience closer than a Tescos many are in pedestrianised areas. By chance if you could park and by further chance if it was not locked would you really want to use it.

Sometimes travelling through the small towns and countryside in the scottish highlands or borders you can never see a Tesco, McDonald or Ikea and there will definitely be no motorway services nearby. To get to the current POIs you would sometimes need to divert for more than 20 miles which is not always practical.

I would just let it lie really. Fact of the matter is, public conveniences are used by dirty old men who use them for committing gross indecency offences. Because of this, councils are fast shutting them down on a regular basis, so even if there was such a list, it's likely that they'd be shut when you got there.

There may well not be a McDonalds, KFC or IKEA on your route, but there will certainly be a vast number of pubs, so I'd stick with that if I were you. In fact, there are much more pubs open than public lavatories nowadays, especially now that the licensing laws have changed.

If you really want to force the issue, you're going to make it sound like you should be referring to other, more seedy sites for what you require.

Oh I think that's a bit harsh. I'm sure there are non dirty old men and women for that matter out there that would like to know if a public restroom was en-route. Especially those with bladder or bowel problems. You can't just march in a pub and use their loo without buying a drink for your time. Looks of disgust would be thrown in your direction by both staff surely? Same goes for fast food restaurants, it's a bit shameful.

Given the choice I wouldn't use a public loo because they are usually ucky, but those ones you put 50p in are quite decent (aledgedly).

But I don't think a public loo shouldn't be seen as a POI. Laughing

Blimey it's been a while since i've talked s**t! Laughing No comments pls. Wink
