As subject, really, what bmps should be used with the speed camera download - because all I'm getting is the square with a black dot in it. |

Where are you getting your POIs from, MaFts site?
I'm using v2.7, MaFt's POIs (thanks MaFt) and don't have a problem. |

I've downloaded the speed camera database from the pocketgpsworld main page - the October one. |

after running the CamRename.bat file it should... the most recent version is slightly different - make sure it is called zRedLight Cam.csv without a space between Red and Light. if not then let me know (here or by email) and i'll have another look at it...

ok i have downloaded the speed camera databases and have set it on a simulation journey and there are like 4 or 5 cameras and a red light camera just on the north circulur is that really true? they are everywhere arnt they mugging machines
Im running windows 98. if i upload loads of POIS together does it bundle them all in the same folder on the i3 (what is it .... off the top of my head umm onthe main screen something like PETROL HOTELS ETC and then when u click on that it says custom files or something is added)?
Or when u upload them all off ur pc can u have a GARMIN folder then have 'speed camera alerts' 'restaurant chains' etc so it looks nice on the i3 screen in different sections or do u have to have them all bundled in the same folder
also do u HAVE to have all the POIs u saved on it active all the time or can u choose which are active and which are turned off (or do u just have to wipe them off the i3 with a new file)
Please explain this to someone who aint got a clue :P |

yes and no. it makes a new folder per file that you upload. i.e. if you upload the following files: speed cam.csv, asda.csv, morrisons.csv then within the 'food hotels and more' / 'custom points' you will have 4 options: 'all points', 'speed cam', 'asda', 'morrisons'

yes, unless you remove them by adding only one file.

what have i done wrong?

nothing wrong. this lists the 6 poi files you have added. i use the csv file that has all the speed cams in one rather than seperate speeds.

Also is it possible for the womans voice to be cut off by the dinging or can they both work together or has this never happened
|
yes, the directions get cut off sometimes by the 'boinging' - not too much trouble though cos you can see the route on the map if it happens.

and if you have 30 or 100 POI does it slow down the unit at all or not?
|
i currently have about 15,000 poi's and haven't noticed any slow-down. other than the obvious: it takes a little longer to search for stuff when you list 'all categories'!!
MaFt
PS - as for motorway services etc - unless you go to manual mode and set it to proximity and distance then it won't bong nearby. |

I have installed the cameras using express option.
Do POIs such as ‘motorway_services.csv’ give a bong sound if u pass them by chance on an unrelated journey?
So if I wanted to clear all the speed camera data off the i3 I could stick just ‘motorway_services.csv’ and motorway_services.bmp’ on it?
Or can I put an empty csv and bitmap file on it to clear it all? (or would this damage the i3/not work?) (can someone make these up correctly and link to them on this post?
My main concern is the bonging and missing the womans voice given directions which the speed camera alerts might prevent???!! Especially as another guy has said happens when driving in central London (although he was talking about editing the alert times). _________________ Garmin StreetPilot i3
