As a GPS novice considering buying this product can someone tell me the following: does the i3 have a 'moving map' when navigating. Has anyone got experience of using the i3 any comments would be useful. Many thanks. |

The main difference between the i3 and it's competitors is the inclusion of POI (points of interest) which allows you you load a speed camera database like the one on this site. The unit will then inform you when you are getting close to a speed camera... Handy
The difference between the I3 and a more expensive unit such as the tom tom which costs twice as much, is that the tom tom has a much larger touch screen arguably macking it easier to operate.
You can't go far wrong with the I3 at this price |

and i'm one of them! they're ace does the job for me, i don't need any of the extra 'features' of the more expensive models. yes, the screen is small, but it's perfectly adequate and easily readable. it gets us from a to b and via c if we want to. it lets us add poi's to find the nearest asda/morrisons/tesco etc when we're away from home. and, most importantly, it means i don't have to print out routes and explain for 3 hours to the mrs where she has to go ;)

Yes it's a proper sat nav system, the main features are:
Moving map
Turn by turn directions with voice prompts(knows about no entry, one way, no right turn etc)
Points of Interest (POIs) including petrol stations, parking places, major hotels etc.
Speed camera database compatible (proximity warnings)
Maps of UK (100% coverage) and Ireland (major roads)
So why is it so cheap? It's an entry level system:
Small screen
No touch screen input
Maps of UK and Ireland only (Europe maps are extra cost)
Consider the Garmin C310/320/330 or Tom Tom Go if these disadvantages bother you.
Lots of people here are raving about their i3's so it sounds like they are selling like hotcakes. For under £200 you can't go too badly wrong - you can easily pay that much for a GPS speed camera detector alone! _________________ Gone fishing! |
