I recently bought an i3. When I select "Where to" then "address" it brings up a list of countries. It lets me enter an address in, for example, France, and then calculates a route as normal. Using "Review Turns" it seems to be calculting all the way - to the ferry and then to the adress in France.

Does this mean the i3 has european maps? (It says just UKI/Ireland on the box!) Or is this more like "Major Roads of Europe"?

I haven't been entering adresses fully (because I don't know any in France!) only selecting at random from the list of postcodes it offers, then selecting "1" as the house number and then selecting a road in that postcode at random. Is this significant?

So many questions...

And Belgium, according to mine...

Perhaps only shows northern France because of the same reason as it only shows the nearest points of interest?

As I understand it from reading a link on this thread http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=30243 Garmin have the concept of a base map that contains major roads for a large area, in our case the whole of Europe, plus City Select/Navigator maps that go into street/house level detail for smaller areas, in our case UK & Ireland.

Thus you could navigate from your home in London to your holiday apartment in Rome but, to do so, you would need to have City Select maps for both UK and Italy but not France. The base maps just enable yoo to get from one City Select zone to another.
