How do I use the detour option correctly on the i3?
If you have used it - can you use it to avoid traffic jams? or does it just try and return to the planned route?

I have had trouble by missing a turning and then it automatically reroutes me a long way around the houses instead of telling me to do a Uturn!! Is this the reroute function?

If you check in your settings menu, there is an option to have U turns enabled/disabled. If set to disabled the I3 won't ask you to do a u turn unless absolutely neccessery ie. a dead end road. So prob best to check your settings and no this is not the re route option. I think by pressing the re route it will just take you along a different set of roads. This in itself can be a little tricky as the unit will not know the length of jam or precisely where it is. It will probably just find an alternate route to the one already being taken.

I find that the detour option will take me off the route at the first oppertunity, and then back on it as soon as possible therafter.
