as far as i know the gps serial number will be matched to the city select software and city select software does work very well on the i3...i think a 256 mb card should be ok if you are only loading one or two states..the maps are loaded using mapsource which is on the city select softawre..

a 256mb card should be big enough - you can get huge amounts of Europe on one of them, but as 512mbs are available now at reasonable prices you could go for one of those.

You just need to load the CitySelect software on to your pc, unlock it and then read the Help/start of manual - it's not all that intuitive immediately - but basically you highlight on the map the states/regions you want, then put the new card in the i3 and download them. Easy as that.

if you leave your old card it, you will overwrite the maps, so make sure you don't to that!

Here's couple of sites:

www.mymemory.co.uk

http://www.digitaldepot.co.uk/

a 256mb card is around £18
a 512mb card is around £32

I just got my i3 yesterday, and I was able to load all of Iowa and Illinois onto the 128 card..I would guess that you could get all of Florida on a 128 card as well..I will be investing in more memory, for my trips to California next year...

Oops-my bad...I wish my i3 came with the 256 card-I am looking into getting a 512 card that comes with an SD card adapter, which would allow me to use with my digital camera...
