|
|
Hello
I've finally taken the plunge and brought a Go 300 and see everyone displaying the wicked Splash screens, now i got one i wanted to use followed all the instructions and it never comes up, I have called it splash.bmp and just splash and droped it just into the SD Card, all i get in the tom tom hand or its just goes straight to the map, i have a 300 running 5.201, i got the screen from a cd and even tried one that looked the other way round, still just goes straight to the main map screen.
Hope someone can help me! |

First try downloading one from here : http://www.gomo-web.de/
as they download in the right format and orientation.
Ensure that if you are using Windows that Explorer is not hiding file extensions (every file you see should have a three letter extension) then rename the downloaded file splash.bmp. Put it in the root (ie not inside any folder) and it should work. One or two people have said that they needed to do a paperclip re-boot for it to work.
Once that is working, try again with your file. If that doesn't work you need to check:
1) is it really a bmp file? (not another format just renamed to .bmp)
2) 24 bit
3) Size and orientation
All of these can be checked by looking at file properties in any reasonable paint program.
Check all that, and post back if still having problems |

And double check the file name, if you have file extensions hidden (default) on your PC then you may find it is called splash.bmp.bmp which won't work. _________________ Darren Griffin |
