yes but have you seen the file size..nearly 1gb for version 5 and 1.39 gb for version 7..

Yes, you do need an unlock code and this is keyed to your GPS serial number.

I used the metro guide version no problem but it is not suited to the i3 It wont navigate on the roads just keeps a general direction.
Also used the i3 to navigate on the lap top using mapsource.
The best version is city select I am told not used it myself out of the country at the moment but will give it a go when I get back.

I lost the original software due to the inadequate and lack of information packaged with my i3. When I explained the situation to Garmin they told me all they could do was sell me another copy.
I am only trying to replace what I had.
Anyone who got one of the first i3s will know what I am talking about.

there was no software with the i3....all the mapping is on the transflash card..

I lost the original software by overwriting it using mapsource which the maplin web site said was compatable at the time only it did not specify that metro guide was not recomended .
I did not realise at the time that the information on the transflash card would be overwritten and no real warning was given at the time.
