Have you got the folder speed zoned as well as the 'ov2 and bmp' folder?
This shows more files ie gatso 30 gatso 40 etc. You then get the speed camera and its speed limit on your tomtom. That is why there are so many files.

Just a thought - if you go to page 2 of this forum you will see a post from sgould showing the ones he has on his tomtom as well. He has listed them. There is also further help from when I was having the same trouble downloading - I didnt understand either at first. Hope this helps - you could read through the whole 4 pages - it may help.

It's where you'll find the speed-zoned files in the download package.
If you read the beginners guide you'll see that when you download the database and un-zip it there is:-

a folder called "single file version" which has, not surprisingly, the single file version, i.e all cameras lumped together;

a folder called "ov2 bmp files" which have the files with the 5 camera TYPES (+ continental cameras);

and a folder called "speed zoned" which has JUST the Gatso and Mobile TYPES split up into the various speed categories.

You can mix and match these in various ways but the usual method is to take the Red Light SPECS and temp files from the "ov2 bmp files" folder and the rest from the "speed zoned" folder.

This gives the 18 mentioned:-
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
(plus their matching .bmp icon files)

also the continental file which I did manage to get on I deleted from the card when starting over, it's not showing on the card but still there on tomtom in POI[/u]

Worth trying a fresh download and unzip of the PocketGPS files from their server?

could it be because I'm downloading using firefox?

I was thinking it could be the download and unzip as the CRC comes up when trying to copy from downloaded file to either a file in my documents or direct to the tomtom

Hi All..

New forum member - hope I'm posting in the correct thread..

I have today purchased a new Tom Tom ONE - great bit of kit!

I have transferred the safety camera database onto the device - all ok so far. Enabled POI's...still all ok.

However, can someone please advise;

did I need to transfer all the .OV2 and .BMP files from the 'speed zoned' folder - as well as those from the OV2 BMP folder?

I'm wondering if I may have copied across more than was necessary??

Whaddya think???

The 18 shown above are a full set. If you have any others they will give double (or treble warnings!!).

The sc file in the single camera folder includes all the 18 above.

The ov2 bmp folder has the gatso and mobile files which include all the speed zoned files. You still need the redlight, specs and temp files from this folder to make a complete set.

Wouldn't have thought that would cause the problem, but worth trying another browser , I suppose.

Aha! Definitely a corrupted download then.

Hi glad,

Would you like me to email you the latest full database i.e. v3.104, which was released on 30th October 2005? It is 2,231 Kb in size.

Regards,

Thanks folks for the advice. Whatever I did - it must have been OK, 'cos today it warned me with sounds, icons, countdown distance, and posted speed limit. It's a good bit of kit, glad I purchased it. The battery lasted easily for 2hrs 40 mins this morning, with still 10% charge left in it.
