When I connect the i3 to my pc it does not show it on my computer as a device.
Mapsource finds it no problem and I can transfer maps no problem. |

As far as I know, no Garmins with removable storage will show up as an external drive (ignoring the iQue models).
This means you can't fiddle with the files and break the unit like a Tom Tom Garmin are very protective of their technologies, so they won't want anyone hacking around with their files. |

I notice you have mapsource, where did you get yours?
I remember reading on this site that there was a free download on the garmin site but i can not see it anywhere. |
