Streetmap c320 Post Code Search

I've mailed Garmin to check - but if I look at anticipated RRP of c310 ( on maplin and gpsw) it is around 350 - which is what Ebuyer are currently selling C320 for !

So it looks like it might be easier to give up on my metroguide maps and just go with c320 - but not until it has postcode search.

I don't understand this map compatibility stuff - the maps are just data....

I now have it on good authority that full postcode searches will be coming to the C320/330/340 very soon.

Garmin have considered adding them to their older models (26x0 etc), but don't hold your breath.

Garmin released a new firmware upgrade for the C320/330 last week, but I'm not sure if Postcode searches were added to this one.
All I know (coming from a source at Garmin UK) is now that the software engineers have seen how to do it with the C310 and i3 they plan to add the feature to the c320/330. It's on the "to-do" list.....

Thanks Jaz666. I have installed the latest software updates which still hasn't got the post code search facility. Weired as similar newer units come with this as standard!!!

Hi, just had this reply from Garmin:

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe Support.

The c series has never been advertised to do a postcode search. Postcode
searching is a feature that has only just been released within the Garmin
product range. Introducing this facility to units that are already on the
market is not something that can be done overnight. Your machine is not
dated and we are intending to introduce this feature soon to the c series
that are not currently supporting this. This will probably be done with the
next mapping update although i can not be certain.

Hey guys

Myself and my brother both just received a StreetPilot C320 each for Christmas and on the whole it's a fantastic piece of kit.

BUT!!! Just like many other owners I wish they'd add full postcode search feature to it. It's the only main fault I can find with the unit but it's such a major requirement for a satnav system in my opinion that I could not comfortably recommend this unit to anybody who asks how I find it.

Having friends who have owned Tomtom systems for some time (both stand alone units and integrated PDA systems) and seeing how they have updated their features I would recommend one of those if anybody asks.

Let's see if things change.

Off topic now, can anybody tell me what size SD card will the C320 support? I will ask this question again in a new thread also.
