Hi all,
Are the memory maps usable in other programs such as fugawi or oziexplorer? Or is there any means of converting them?
Thanks,
Matt |

No, they're only available in Memory-Map due to licensing restrictions. |

Thanks Dave.
Does that mean they are not compatable electronically? If I had scanned a map myself for use in Memory Map, could that be converted from the same file?

Other thing. Any chance of a comparisons table of the different features of the topographical programs with plus and minus points to help in deciding which one to buy?
Just a thought.
Cheers,

Matt, You can certainly scan a map in your favourite program and import it and calibrate it under Memory-Map. You can also do the same under Fugawi and also OziExplorer, but you can't use the Memory-Map's (eg Ordnance Survey Maps) in Fugawi or OziExplorer due to licensing restrictions. Ordnance Survey are very (how can I put it), Anal! They wouldn't even let us have a Pocket PC screenshot of a Pocket PC product with an very small abstract from an OS map. Because of this they won't let you use their maps between products, and also impose huge restrictions on the products that do use their maps.
We'll look at doing a comparison soon. |
