Firstly the guys/gals who do all the work maintaining the database are STARS!

But judging by all the forum questions, there seem to be an awful lot of people who find it difficult to sort out which set of files they want for their needs, and then you have to spend SO much time and energy on this forum and others, telling them over and over again which files they need.

So.... maybe there's a case for splitting the download up into seperate versions with EVERYTHING needed for each situation? So, for example, if you want the speed zoned files, you don't have to find those AND find the specs / redlight etc files from another folder, but just download the "Speed Zoned.zip package.
Then maybe there wouldn't be so many "I've installed the complete set and the zoned files and get too many alerts" questions too.

Just a thought....

If the database was constructed for every eventuality, it would become very cumbersome, and very time consuming, for those who spend a lot of their own time checking and compiling.

The question of how to lay it out was asked before and this is, I believe, the best compromise.

Let's not forget how much they charge us all for these files!!!!!!!!!!!

I will admit that when I first installed these, I had a job understanding what went where. After an hour or so and reading a few posts I had it all installed and working perfectly.

Maybe we (the user) should do our bit, those of us who are confident about how to install what is required and are able to write out a set of clear installation instructions for our own ppc should do so. These instructions could be displayed on this forum and once enough people are in agreement that it is easy enough to follow without error, they could be uploaded onto a space on this site (is that ok Guys?) in maybe PDF format and available for everyone..... You'd just click on the link and view the installation instructions that matches what you want.

Sound like a good idea??? I'm sure it would work!!

Sounds like a great idea Smile Richard puts in a huge amount of time collating and compiling the camera database, if we were to publish seperate downloads for each possible GPS system it would be an impossible task.

As has been said, its free, its the most complete and its all there in the database download. All you have to do is spend a bit of time reading the forum and the guides and you'll be sorted.

I have a guide on my web site for users of Navigon.

Link at very bottom of this post.
