hi all just got an Acer n35 2 weeks ago and did get Destinator to work with thw speed cam poi's but as was said in another ( i think probie) the data was quite old in fact a gatso near my house been in place for about 4yrs was missing(that gatso is into for me £60 and 3 points but we won't gointothat1 on this mode) so changed over to TomTom 3, well that works but i like the maps/detail of Destinator better. So I just have a question
about the AutoAlert1 file, if i go back to Destianor and install AutoAlert1 will the alarm sound at 100yds ect.

You may find this useful on yer Acer n35 Spb Pocket Plus 2.5

Ian,

If you follow my instructions in :-
http://pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=21290

The camera dataabase will work fine.

Regarding the distances, yes you can modify.

Once the destinator program is open,

Click Destinate,
Click Favorites,
Hightlight either Auto Alert 1 or 2 and click on the Tools buttn at the bottom of the screen.
Click edit and up pops a settings screen.

You have a 1st and 2nd alert where you can select 1000,800,600,400,100 or 50 yds.

Personally I've got my 1st set at 400 and
my second at 100. This gives me enough time if it's a mobile site (as here in Wales the cops like sitting around bends in the road) and reminds me closer to the actual site.

Hope this helps

Mikey

I'm using a very similar piece of software called Wisbar. (Description below)

It needs a little setting up to display the items you wish as this functions like a windows taskbar. However the major decider for me is that its FREE!!!!!!!!

It can be downloaded via

http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/wisbaradvance.shtml

This is also a good website for other pocketPC apps.

Mikey

Description:
WisBar is the leading task management software for the PocketPC.
Based upon WisBar 1.0.4 (created by Walker's Internet Service), WisBar Advance takes task management to a new level.
WisBar Advance provides advanced task management by replacing the taskbar provided with the Pocket PC operating system.

Once installed, WisBar Advance can be customized to look and act like the operating system taskbar, or you can customize its appearance and add buttons to increase its functionality.

Features:
- Compatible with PocketPC 2002, 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003 operating systems
- Choose whether you want a program closed, minimized or ignored
- Manage your running tasks without using the stylus
- Change the look and feel of the taskbar and Today menubar with custom skins
- Popup dialogs that provide a consistent interface with PocketPC 2002 / 2003
- Two customizable buttons with tap and tap-and-hold actions
- Change the format of the date and time display
- Fonts can be rendered in ClearType and with shadows
- Can cancel a dialog by tapping and holding the OK button
