When I down loaded it, it was 1.35MB. I would expect the database to get bigger each month as more sites are added. Plus Richard has added some more .CSV files for Destinator users.

We try to cater for as many different SatNav types as possible. You just need to select the ones you need. If in doubt have another look at the announcement and use the relevant links that it has for further information. Thumbs Up

Ok about the download size, but still not sure when you talk about the different versions:
when i open the winzip and it shows me the files, one states version 3.044 text document and then underneath a few bits is version 3.054 text document. i just thought as it was an update that only version 3.054 would show. i have copied across as stated for ttg users the ov2 and bmp files as a whole (not the document mind) just all these files
cheers

Hi Keith,

You’ve got me confused too! Confused

When I unzipped the file into a new folder, I can’t see a version 3.044 text document. Did you unzip the 3.054 database into an existing folder or a new folder? Thumbs Up

Regards,

Ahh, you’re saving to the desktop.

Personally, I always save to a folder and a new one at that. When the next PocketGPSWorld camera database comes out, I create a new folder for it and then save it. This allows me to keep various versions of the database on the PC, which can be useful for reference. The format I use is:

C:\Data\Downloads\POI\Speed Camera\2005_05_30_v3.054

The last part of the folder “2005_05_30_v3.054” refers to the date of the release as well as the version number.

Regards,

ok
have saved to a different folder and that seems fine now, 1 final question (i hope), when it asks me to save etc, some of the files appear quite old some date back to feb 2003 and i don' t seem to see anything from may 2005. would this be correct?

Once you have saved the file, and then unzipped it, you should see some files that have a date of May 2005. Can you see the “VERSION 3.054.txt” file?

yes i see that text file, when i go to open the ov2bmp files and highlight all the files in there for me and drag across to the ttg gbritain map, my winzip asks you have the same file do you want to override it and some of the file dates are dated to 2003.
?? Confused

The .BMP files are the icons that appear on the screen to indicate the position of the relative camera type. They do not change. The Gatso one is the oldest as it was the first camera type that we started to log on the camera database.

As long as the .OV2 files are up-to-date then you should be laughing! 8)
