Just checking the box contents, Garmin usually supply a cable with all their handhelds, but I guess to cut back on the overall retail price for the Geko's they've left that out.

You can buy one direct from PC-Mobile, the cable you need is the first one on that page (in the table) called the GE9SF which is a two part cable. The first part GEDC will connect to your Geko and the G9SF is the serial cable end, and they meet in the middle with a 3.5mm plug/socket.

Rino cable is different and you can buy it only from Garmin.

People who buy Rino with one main reason: play with the walkie talkie (GPS style) between friends.

If you want to connect PC or PDA, Rino is not the GPS to get.

Whoops, should have read the post correctly, I was looking at the Geko and not Rino. Looking at the Rino manual page 81 of the PDF it looks similar to a Garmin Round connector, but it is different.

i have used radios for a few years now, i do metal detecting as a hobby, and instead of carrying both a radio and a gps, i went for the rino. as the software iss old (2.20) i want to update it to a newer version.

thanks for your replys anyway.
