Evil or Very Mad HI,
I thought I let you all know.
I have bougth a brand new Navman 650 and paid £712 pounds for it.
The unit is 3 days old and since then it froze twice.
Today the unit hung again as it was recalculating the route and it got stuck at 91%.
None of the button worked anymore after this and the only way was to remove the power from the unit.
however now it want even start anymore.

This is the biggest hip of Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad :x cr@p from NAVMAN I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I bought this unit in good faith and i was hoping this is better then tomtom or other once I must say I ws wrong.
As i need it to go on holiday (in a day) and can not get it replaced or fixed in time I wen tin the shop and got a 610 Unit however now I can not get the maps I need in time.

:x WHAT A WAIST OF TIME !!!!!!!

I hope this wakes others think twice if they think they get something good.
Gee .... some steam off...calling their support again .. but hurray no one there....??

You probably just got a faulty unit. Where did you get it from? If it was from a retailer you should be able to take it back for an exchange or a refund?

I can honestly say that I have never had one lock up / freeze of my 650 since I bought the GPS and it is used every days for at least 5 hours each day and somtimes twice this. I find the Navman routing calculations much better than tom tom on the PDA but this may be unique to the area I am using it which is mostly the west coast of scotland.

All things considered I find the 650 excellent.

HI,

time for the next update.
I changed the daft 650 for a new one.

This one works fine and had no problems what so ever since i used it. It has also been upgraded to the latest service pack. So far so good. :D

The difference between the old unit annd this new one is that the old unit made a sound when the power supply was connected and the new one does not.
It could be there was a problem with the powere managment SW on the unit or the connector which i had first.

Is Dublin fully covered, as I am going there in a week or so, and presumed I would be OK?
