speed camera speaking tones

Hello,
i have been using gps speed camera database for a couple of months now on my last update i noticed there was extra info on the downloads. i.e there was now windows media files which speak saying (approaching speed limit)etc how do i get them to work with my sat nav ?
i have mio 168 running smart st3.

Hi welcome to the forums.

Unfortunately you can't directly use the speech wav files when using smartSTv3 you are stuck with the default 'chime'.

However there is a work around but you can only have one sound for all active POI alerts.
Here's the deal...

On the Pocket PC / Mio, the default POI alert sound is called cosmicl.wav
Via ActiveSync, locate the cosmicl.wav file. It should be in the following directory:
/Program Files/Navman/SmartST Pro/Sound/
Either back up the original cosmicl file to another location or rename it.
Decide which sound file you like and cut & paste the file into the Sound directory. Don't forget to rename your file cosmicl or it won't work!
You now have a custom alert for the safety cameras!

You can use any .wav file by using this method.
