Hi there.
Let's assume TomTom don't have the disclaimer about tampering with their new voices.
I've downloaded the Zappa voice. And having looked at it, I've recorded 60 odd of my own instructions. Thing is, though I can just drag in the .wav files into the correct foler - I'd like to have it as a set-up thing - so I can send it to my sister (ahhh) and she can hear me when she drives. (Ought to make her crash....)
But, I stumble at the .cab file part. If I just zip the files, it won't work TomTom says I have a corrupt setup file - obviously - so I need to make a .cab.
So, how do I do this?
Any help would be appreciated. And, remember, this is just for knowledge, not to actually DO!! (ahem...)

More than likely TomTom use their own compression method and this produces a non-standard .CAB file. It's only part of a file name and doesn't have to follow any convention, (it makes it harder to reverse engineer).
You would have to know there method of compression to be able to manipulate it. _________________ Richard

Hmm, Ok. Thanks.
I did find a .cab creator - but it's bloody hard to work out how to use.
In the meantime I'll just send her the .wav files - I'm surprised it works so well anyway!! It's funny hearing my own voice telling me where to go. I keep thinking "I didn't know that!!"
And it stops me shouting at TomTom too.
