Jumped into my car last night to start work, fitted my TT Go to the windscreen and then connected it it my ciggy lighter when the screen went funny and then went blank. Disconnected to wire from the TT Go and could smell the smoke coming from my TT Go, tried to turn it on and nothing happened. Now when I plug in the power lead into the ciggy lighter the green light on the adaptor doesn't even light up.

So what who do I return my TT Go to? The website company I bought it from or TT Go?

Also how long can I expect to be without my TT Go?

Bought the TT Go back in July.

Thanks.

You may be lucky, in that it may just be the power adapter that's failed, and not the Go itself - though it could be that the power adapter has failed and damaged the Go, or that the Go has damaged the power adapter.

Anyway, your contract is with the retailer, and you should go to them in the first place. Only contact TomTom directly if the retailer suggests that would be easier for you.

Thanks for the reply.

Sent the online retailers where I bought my TT Go an email before.

Tell you what though, once you've used sat nav you don't half miss it when it's not available.

Anyone know what the procedure will be, will it be a straight swap or will they send it off to be fixed?

I feel naked.

Same happened to me... and a few others.... see this thread http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11720

What to do next depends how long you've had your TTG I think. Since mine was less than 10 days old TT advised me to return it to where I bought it from.
