Processor Speed "v" SD Memory

Hi there,

I've searched the forum already but can't find an answer to this one. Picked up the TTG yesterday (kid with a new toy feeling etc!) and want to load as much as possible POI and map wise onto it. I've heard though, that if I get a larger card (512 or 1GB) and load it for example with all the POI kindly available from PocketGPS site, that it will slow done the speed at which TTG can display info on the screen?

With so much help on here, has anyone loaded a large quantity of POI/maps to their TTG and has it affected the performance?

There will be a slowing down because of the extra data that has to be processed. Having said that it only applies if the POI's are enabled so that they are displayed on the map, in which case you might not see the map if too many are chosen!! '8O'

However if you just need to be able to Navigate To there would be no processing overhead. But be warned that there is a limit (at present) of 40 additional POI's.
