Well Tom got me through Paris, both ways, without a hitch while Jane kept me cool, sane and relatively stress free. No more holding maps in one hand, driving with the other while screwing your eyeballs up to see road signs too late to actually make the turn in time. What an amazing bit of kit, I bought the complete roads of Europe maps so that I could navigate through cities, glad I did!

Only a few problems:-

when passing under even small bridges around Paris the signal would go and the ASN would take over - so will the ariel booster improve this?

when travelling on parts of the newer 'peage' roads ie E13 and E11 that weren't on the maps, sometimes 20km of nothing - is there an upgrade for these maps available soon?, it's needed.

when the sun shone I could hardly see the screen, I have the matt touchscreen protector on and it's already up to 100% brightness- is there a software upgrade to give more screen brightness?
I've downloaded the 4.42 upgrade and think somewhere on this forum it said this included a brightness increase?

Some observations:-

I had a struggle to keep the new SD cards (that I downloaded individual country maps onto), stay in the slot, it kept popping back out. The original SD card that came with the TTG goes in and out perfectly but these cards seem to be slightly different in their design - thicker ridges on the sides I've noticed. Don't panic, I almost did.

A 'S.T.F.U.' button is required when you take an alternative route because you know there is one, to keep Jane from telling you to 'at the next opportunity turn around' without having to delete the route you've spent ages putting in. I know, just turn the sound down.

Using TTG in conjunction with Autoroute on a laptop, is time saving, if not for the fact that correct spellings of 'foreign' place names have to be specific for TTG.

Beware of doing everything that Jane tells you though, going up a oneway street the wrong way ('she said so officer!) almost led me into an accident. You've still got to use your eyes and instinct, it's an aid to navigation not The Bible. But a bloody good one at that!
