TTG & SD/MMC cards

How come TTG doesn't read MMC cards? My Ipaq reads Sd & MMC cards.
They appear to be identical but for the security slider and the thickness is slightly less on a MMC card.

That's the way it was designed. It's a single minded piece of kit and not designed for a mulitude of tasks.

If it works OK and is relatively cheap - does it matter?

At least there should be no sleepless nights worrying about which type of card to buy! Other than if it is made in Japan or not.
