Hi again.

Ignore my previous message. I since discovered the thread about using ogg files with the same names as the ov2 files.

I'll find out on the way home if its working.

Thanks again.

Yip, works just fine on my TT one v3 europe, just renamed all the relevant ogg files to correspond with the pocketgps poi's. Works a treat

Have a read through THIS most of us are using a newer method that works very well with all versions (except TT Mobile by the looks of it), you only need to read the first post to be honest, that gives instructions for install etc, to be honest it is easier than messing around with the data.chk file - Mike

That's right m8 - read the above topic, install separate voice files for each camera and forget about repalcing data.chk file.

Works fine on my GO 510

Is there a choice of voices available other than the 3 people listed in the first article? I just want "Gatso 30" (like the original data.chk) as opposed to something like "slow down there's a camera over there"

Well if you have the original data.chk file you could split it into its individual files to do what you want. You will need the application POIExtend on your PC (available from www.tomtomsatnav.info ) load the data.chk into the program then use the file save buttons to store the individual sounds. To be honest if you are happy with the sounds from the data.chk file why mess around changing it? - Mike

I don't really want to change it Mike. It's just that I upgraded to 6.520 (7690) which caused the data.chk to revert back to the standard cow and bell sounds.

When I asked if someone would be producing an updated data.chk file I was told it was 'old school' and everyone was now using OGG files . . . hence my question.

In which case take the old data.chk file to bits in the way I outlined earlier, you can then save the sound files as .ogg format and load them to your device. Reconfigure the warnings and you will be away working with the sounds you like - Mike

Many thanks Mike, that seems to have worked a treat.

I appear to have more POIs than I have voices for and would like to complete the set. I've had to set up the 'Specs' and 'Specs 30' up to 'Specs 70' the same copied and renamed "Specs" voice. It would be nice to have "Specs 30", "Specs 40" etc, etc

I don't like the very 'wordy' spoken POIs from Andy, Liz and Vicky so am looking for alternate short spoken messages.

Does anyone have a link to alternate SHORT real voice speed warnings?

Bodger
