|
|
First let me say hello to all on this board.
I just got a TTG this week & so far finding it a great little gadget. After looking through the forum I decided to get a higher capaicity sd card (Kingston 512mb) & transfer all the files on the supplied card onto it.
Problem is after cuttin & pasting all the files onto the new card, putting it in the TTG, switching it on a screen pops up asking for the activation code for the GB map. Where can I find this code?
Thanks in advance. |

The activation code is available from the TomTom website
http://www.ttcode.com/ttcode/ActivationCode.php?lang=eng
You will need the Product Code, which is on the paper sleeve of the TomTom CD and the Device code which is viewable on the TTG screen.
Once you've got the activation code, write it down and keep it safe. You can save it on TomTom's own site as well.

I am also thinking of getting a new SD - ( I have a 512 with France and GB on at the moment) possibly the 1Gb as will then be able to get most of my holiday routes all on one card. etc..
However if and when I do do this and load the files from the disc's will I have to activate them over again ( the ones that I am already using) - I have entered the numbers up on the web site..
Second point -- If I install Major Routes would I be able to do a route say from the UK - anywhere - to say Italy - anywhere - with out changing over cards at the borders...
At the moment I switch maps when leaving the ferry in France.. _________________ Happy to meet -- Sorry to part -- Happy to meet again |

I'm not sure about the activation. If you copy the existing card to your PC and then re-copy to the new 1Gb card it will work just the same.
When you add your other maps I don't think you will have to activate them, as you have activated the France map and the code for the CD set is the same, so you should be OK.
If you load the MRE map you can navigate in one go to Italy (or any other country on the map), but you may have to change maps to the detail country map when you get near your destination. |
