France maps what version??

I am using TTGO in the UK (great - I like and now trust it ! :D ) but I will be going on holiday to France--

I have France Navigator map v314 installed at the moment - from the info screen --- is that the latest??

If not where can I get the latest..?

Or
Is an updated coming in the next couple of months??

There is a later version v390,but TomTom is not selling it as an update.
There are rumours that map updates will come available in the next 3 months.

Is that the 390 France you are talking about as I do have the 390 Great Britain
But my France map is v314
will the v390 be coming out for this one ???

I have just bought the maps for Europe and my version for France and Great Britain are v398. ( I have not checked the rest of Europe yet). Hope this helps.

There's at least two series of maps available on Go - the precise number seem to depend on what map you're looking at.


28x is TomTom Navigator 3 on the Pocket PC (Go users who are complaining about 'old' maps, please take note - those buying Navigator 3 today get 28x maps which are over a year old).

31x are one map series on Go.

39x are another map series on Go.


TomTom are not in a position to offer 39x maps to those who have 31x maps with their Go, due to licensing constraints - similarly, you are not allowed to copy maps from other users. You get whatever is in your TomTom package.

This "map version" issue has been debated at length in the forums already. TomTom have clearly decided not to offer upgrades between these versions. I would venture that this will soon be a non-issue as all these maps have been around for some months now and all are somewhat dated.


As has been said in various places, TomTom are likely to release various upgrades over the next few months - the chances are that some announcements will be made at CeBit. I expect these will include new European maps for Go, but I don't have any inside information from TomTom.

A new version of TomTom Mobile has been announced today, and I can't think that's the last announcement (especially when you note that all TomTom products apart from Navigator 3 on the Pocket PC use a "common platform" approach to the software).
