Hi, I just bought a TomTom Go yesterday along with a 512mb SD card in order to copy the postcodes and speed camera data on to it.
A friend of mine also has the TT Go and has been trying to talk me through the process of downloading the above info on to my SD card but it seems that although we have precisely the same version number:
App 4.420, GPS v1.21, Boot 1.35, map: 'Great- Britain-Map' v390
we have different internal folder structures which has led to some confusion when trying to copy files to folders.
I am using Win XP. My folders are as follows:
7 sub folders= Licenses, manual, nvuk, rsc, tomtomgo, voice, win98
The 'manual' folder contains a sub-folder called TomTomGo, which itself contains 2 sub-folders: poster & refman.
The 'nvuk' folder contains 2 sub-folders called MAP & tomtomgo. MAP contains 2 sub-folders called GB & mre (major roads of Europe).
I downloaded the postcodes and speed camera zip files but now I am not sure where I should copy them into?
Apologies if I have given too much information here; I have no idea what info is relevant.
Would very much appreciate any help anyone can offer, as I'm completely stumped at the moment.
I'm based in NW London.

Sounds like another one who doesn't know the difference between folders and folders!
The folders you've listed are on the supplied CD.
The ones which MATTER are on the SD card!
You need to connect TTG to your computer using the USB lead. When you turn it on, the PC should recognise it as a removeable disk drive - to which it will asign the next available letter, F:\ or whatever.
When setting up a blank SD card, you have 2 choices. Either use the menu on the CD to install first the application, then the maps you want OR copy everything (including the directory structure) fron the supplied SD card onto your hard disk and then onto the new card. This will create a clone of the supplied card, onto which you can then load additional maps from the CD - such as MRE.
For pure copying, use Windows Explorer (or similar) not the menu on the CD - which is only for installing new stuff or deleting unwanted voices etc.
As for the camera files, these need to be copied to the map folder (Great-Britain-Map or whatever) on the SD card.
