GPS Navigation goes Mainstream: Need for Speed Underground 2

Seems like it's not just us early adapters anymore, if EA Games incorporate a GPS navigation into the newest sequel of their Need for Speed franchise.

Directional arrow, moving mini map, "you are here" marker (green arrow), varying width for streets of different classes.. it's all there ;)



As well as some blatant product placement from Cingular (US cellphone company, orange icon in the upper left). Which is why there's no voice guidance. Your homies keep calling you to announce the location of the next underground race.

! Love the "No Satellite" bit!

Mind you, games have had maps for years and years so it's nothing really new. - Driver, for example, had a directional arrow on it telling you where to go in a kind of as-the-crow flies GPS-way.

Voice guidance in games would be interesting though!
