Hi
I bought a TomTom GO a couple of days ago and am having lots of fun with it! I am really pleased with the POI stuff and have already started using the Petrol Station and Speed Camera databases.
Now.. is it just me or is the Car Park database a bit sparse? I live in Maidstone and there are at least five car parks within a mile or two of my house. TomTom has none of these listed and tells me my nearest car park about 5 miles away. In fact NONE of the town centre car parks seem to be in it.
Am I doing something wrong or is the case for everyone? |

It's normal. The pre-loaded PoIs from TomTom are not generally very good.
Unfortunately you can't delete them one by one. You can remove the lot by renaming the poi.dat file I believe, but I've not tried that yet. |

I am unaware of a user based POI of car parks, but you could easily start your own if you wanted, go to www.streetmap.co.uk or www.multimap.co.uk and get the coordinates for the car parks in your area and add them to POI on this site and am sure you would get other users doing the same. _________________ Regards

S'funny... the POIs in CH are very good I find on the whole... but as mentioned, the UK ones are pants. Only shops listed are Partco Autoparts or something like that... very handy if you need a set of sparkplugs, but a loaf of bread??? |
