I have been trying to create a custom POI list using makeov2 provided by this site, however the lat & long references I am given by web sites for addresses I look up vary by up to one third of a mile compared to the same address in the tom tom.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

Yes, I’ve found it a problem too. Are the websites, that have this problem, using multimap? I think the latitude & longitude references are sometimes calculated by multimap from the given postcode, which can be an approximate location. Also the multimap latitude & longitude references are shorter than I would expect which also leads to an inaccuracy.

If you’re looking at UK locations then it may be best to try Streetmap, which will give you a more accurate latitude & longitude reference. You can click on the map and be given the latitude & longitude reference of that location.

Regards,

Thanks for the response.

I have tried streetmap and it does give a much more accurate number - thanks.
