First Sat Nav Purchase

I got delivery of my Tom Tom Go yesterday. I opened it up and was impressed by the packaging, the look and feel of the device, the start up instructions, etc. But then... major disappointment.

Inserted the SD card into the device and it wouldn't work. Looked all over the place for instructions to fix it. Software from the CD would not install. Infact the PC could not read the card at all...

I finally got fed up and took the device back to the shop. Thankfully they exchanged it. I eagerly brought it home, unpacked it, inserted the SD card and it fired up just fine.

Took it for a test drive and was extremely impressed :D . What a great device. I am really happy with it so far. More testing tonight, when I go out for dinner!

TomTom do seem to have a few quality problems!

Most people end up buying a larger SD card. The supplied card is only just big enough, and usually runs out of space when you start adding large POI files. You'll find plenty of advice on the forum on what to do. The safety camera POIs are a 'must have'.

I am absolutely loving the Tom Tom and am pleasantly surprised at how accurate it is.
